FAQ
Why do parents consider online schooling?
There are several reasons why parents choose to educate their children using online programs. Some of these reasons include experiences with bullying, social anxieties, health reasons, more challenging courses, a wider variety of courses, religious reasons, flexibility in schedule, preferred learning style, etc...
How is the Liberty Center Digital Academy different than other online academies?
The Liberty Center Digita Academy was designed with students in mind. Other online academies, such as ECOT or Ohio Virtual Academy offer very nice online programs for students. However, LCDA offers the benefits of online schooling and flexibility with the benefits of public school. Students enrolled in the LCDA are eligible for middle and high school sports, extra-curricular activities and will then receive a high school diploma from Liberty Center Schools. We can offer the graduation experience that other online schools cannot.
Can anyone enroll?
Students wishing to enroll in the Digital Academy must first meet the criteria outlined in the enrollment policy. This program is not intended for every student, but rather trying to reach students who need a more relaxed environment to complete their coursework. A meeting should be set up with the Coordinator to discuss potential enrollment.
Will my child be isolated?
Students in the Digital Academy are able to enroll in the lab option which allows students to be in a safe and controlled environment while still interacting with peers. Students are able to communicate with other Liberty Center students as little or as much as they'd like. Students can stay home full-time, complete online work in the lab, or even take courses in the traditional classroom AND complete the rest online. LCDA students are also welcome to attend school functions and participate in extra-curricular activities.
